Paul J. Goetz, RWC

Paul Goetz, Principal and CEO, joined Aquatech in 2001 after leading one of the Bay Area’s largest waterproofing, industrial seamless-flooring and specialty roofing companies. Paul has over 30 years of practical and diverse building envelope and construction experience in the areas of project management, contracting, specification preparation, estimating, and forensic consulting. He is recognized by his peers, developers and architects as one of the foremost authorities on waterproofing, roofing, and exterior wall design and systems. His guidance is sought by building owners, architects, and contractors to evaluate and remedy moisture intrusion problems and construction defects.

Paul Goetz holds BA and MBA degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. He is an experienced forensic investigator, a Registered Waterproofing Consultant, and a licensed Roofing and Waterproofing Contractor in the State of California. He is a member of RCI, the Construction Specification Institute (CSI), International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI), the Forensic Expert Witness Association (FEWA), ATSM, and is a Past President of the Western Construction Consultants Association (WESTCON).

Arin Nelson

Arin A. Nelson, AIA

Arin A. Nelson, Principal/Architect, a California licensed architect since 1986, holds a BS in Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He has provided construction consulting services to the legal and insurance industry since 1992 in matters involving water intrusion, construction defect liability, and apportionment of responsibility. A member of the American Institute of Architects, Roof Consultants Institute, Construction Specifications Institute and Western Construction Consultants Association, he has extensive field experience coordinating and documenting destructive testing. Mr. Nelson has testified as an expert witness on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants in mediation and trial.

Arin provides consulting and monitoring services for the design and construction industry focusing on the evaluation and prevention of water intrusion through the building enclosure. He has advised architects, building owners, and contractors on the integration and detailing of critical waterproofing and flashing components at windows, curtain walls, skylights, roof transitions, sheet metal coping, air and vapor barrier, self adhering flashings, stucco, EIFS, sealants, and foundation and balcony waterproofing systems. He has performed water testing of installed windows and skylights and has monitored flood testing of balcony, plaza deck and living roof waterproofing installations in numerous apartment, condominium, and commercial construction projects.

Charles Saul

Charles A. Saul, B1, RWC

Charles Saul, Principal/Senior Consultant, brings to ACI more than 30 years of experience as a hands-on General Building Contractor. His broad construction field experience encompasses Architecture, Real Estate, the Building trades and Contract Law. He has personally designed, drafted and built many high-end custom homes and commercial projects across the San Francisco Bay region and Western States. From the drawing board to specifications writing, code compliance to finished work product, Charile Saul is a skilled communicator and supportive coordinator, applying both analytical and practical measures to his efforts.

A specialist in waterproof detailing, below grade, plaza, building envelope, windows and claddings, plaster systems, EIFS systems, roofing systems, and construction diagnostics and forensics, Mr. Saul brings his developed expertise in identifying problem areas, and analyzing and offering direction for resolution. His experienced eye for details, depth of experience and ability to clearly express his observations, are all factors in his high success rate for durable solutions.
