Eduardo Carranza

Eduardo Carranza, PE, RWC

Eduardo Carranza is a Senior Consultant with ACI and has over 15 years of experience in heavy civil work on roads and tunnels, as well as in residential and commercial construction. His construction litigation experience includes forensic work in cases related to construction defects, contract management, cost and time changes, personal injury, and failed waterproofing. Mr. Carranza has both courtroom and arbitration experience and is a qualified expert witness.

 

Eduardo Carranza holds Professional Engineer licenses in both California and Peru, is a Licensed General Contractor, and is a Registered Waterproofing Consultant. He received a B.S. in Civil Engineering, a Construction Management Certificate from U.C. Berkeley Extension, and an M.B.A. from San Francisco State University. Mr. Carranza is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Concrete Institute (ACI), ASTM (Committees: C11, C24, D08, E06, and E58), RCI, WESTCON, and other industry related organizations.

R. Tyler McKenna

Tyler McKenna draws from a diverse industry background spanning over 17 years. In addition to consulting and trade experience, he served for nearly four years as a commercial field representative for one of the industry’s leading manufacturers of weatherization products, establishing himself within the architectural and construction communities of the greater Bay Area as a resource for specification and detail review, building envelope education, installation training, and quality assurance.

 

Tyler McKenna’s consulting specialties include review and development of water management details, standardized and diagnostic testing of fenestrations and assemblies, construction monitoring, and litigation support.

Wayne L. Scholten

Wayne L. Scholten

Wayne Scholten has more than 30 years of diverse experience in construction and the construction consulting discipline. His broad field experience has included investigation and evaluation of various existing roof systems, design of new and replacement roofs, decks and walls, construction site management, and quality control. Mr. Scholten’s background enables him to incorporate a comprehensive approach in forensic investigation, evaluation, specifications and design for a wide variety of clients.

 

An experienced building envelope consultant, Wayne’s involvement in projects has included building component assessments using destructive and nondestructive techniques for identification of moisture infiltration. His expertise in specification writing, construction cost estimating, on-site project management and quality control has been demonstrated on a wide variety of projects throughout California.

Tedd A. Waddell

Tedd A. Waddell

Tedd A. Waddell’s background encompasses more than 19 years of professional experience in the design and construction of moisture control and waterproofing details. He served over ten years as a senior design consultant for an architectural sheet metal and mechanical Contracting firm. Areas of specialization included roof, wall and sub grade drainage systems, building expansion control, metal roofing and metal panel wall systems, and HVAC moisture control. Additionally he has extensive experience in the design and installation of storefront windows and curtain wall systems.

 

Tedd Waddell has personally engineered and managed moisture control packages for many light industrial, commercial, mixed use and residential projects in Northern California that include educational, health care, high tech, hospitality and residential.

Harvey Abernathey

Harvey Abernathey, Advisor

Harvey Abernathey, founder of ACI, offers over 35 years as a waterproofing professional with comprehensive hands-on and consultant experience in remedial and new construction. An experienced presenter at ASTM and local trade associations, Harvey is recognized by industry colleagues as an expert in identifying and resolving water infiltration problems. His expertise includes state of the art inspection and ASTM/AAMA testing procedures, including field pressure differential leak detection, and employs other sophisticated methods such as invasive inspection and non-destructive evaluation testing and analysis.

 

Harvey Abernathey’s expertise in building envelope integration, sealants, cement plaster, windows, and EIFS, supports the company’s focus in providing solutions for water intrusion problems and addressing construction defect issues. He has been involved in numerous high profile Bay Area building projects in both litigation support and project management responsibilities.

 

Mr. Abernathey holds both general and specialty contracting licenses and is a member of multiple industry trade and professional organizations.
